NY4Wildlife is a project of NY4Whales (www.ny4whales.org), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and survival of wildlife, including cetaceans (whales and dolphins) and land-based wildlife. Our educational efforts and work for wildlife have resulted in large and small gains, and has helped raise awareness of the importance of preserving our natural world.
This is the season of baby birds, rescues and releases, fighting local and regional wildlife threats and establishing our outpost rehabilitation and release center!
WHO ARE WE?
We are wildlife rehabilitators, licensed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (US FWS). Along with wildlife rehabilitators, our staff includes scientists, veterinarians, botanists, and wildlife-centered FAA-Certified UAS (drone) operators based in Westchester County and New York City, NY, but serving all regions as needed. We are extremely grateful for the volunteers who assist in our important efforts to help wildlife.
Our many projects take us where solutions for wildlife survival are needed in a world heavily populated with people, often with innate hostility toward our essential wildlife neighbors. We have participated in important litigation for cetaceans and wildlife and continue to engage lawmakers in efforts toward conservation, accuracy in data collection and education, and humane approaches to wildlife issues.
WE CAN LIVE TOGETHER WITH WILDLIFE!
SUPPORT OUR WORK – AS WE FIND COMMON GROUND TO HELP WILDLIFE TO COEXIST WITH US IN OUR WORLD!
